New York State Police troopers were dispatched to an Argyle Street home in Putnam Valley shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Monday morning, where there were reports of a domestic dispute between Putnam Valley residents Derek Sutter and Candice Sutter, both 35 years old.
Police said that the investigation into the incident determined that the two had engaged in a physical domestic dispute in the presence of a child, and that Derek Sutter had violated an order of protection. Both parties were subsequently arrested.
Derek Sutter was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and violating an order of protection, both misdemeanors. Candice Sutter was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and attempted assault.
The former was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond, the latter was released on her own recognizance. Both are due back in Putnam Valley Court later this month to answer the charges.
